Latest Updates from Our Project:

Coronavirus, Meet The WitchBorn
about 4 years ago – Thu, Feb 27, 2020 at 02:13:53 PM

Many of you may know most tabletop games are printed in China. The WitchBorn is no exception. And our friends in China are facing the Coronavirus pandemic. My friends are shut in their homes and have very little chance to communicate even via the Internet. Thankfully, thus far, none are ill!

The virus is having a big impact on War Mage Diary. With no communication, I have not been able to begin preproduction on the book. This is the time where we establish quantities for all the elements—not just the books, but also templates, cards, packaging, and more. We pick paper stocks—and in our case, leather or faux leather—plus get the final estimates. The preproduction phase also creates changes as the printer suggests ways to produce higher quality books. This usually takes about six weeks of back and forth ending in a final sample.

None of this preproduction has begun. It cannot begin until communications with China and shipping returns to normal.

I have been using this downtime to expand the book and get it to be as complete as possible when preproduction begins. For example, I’m working on a monstrous glossary of terms to steer you to definitions not only in WMD but also to all the other books. It’s something folks have been asking for! When all this is complete, I’ll get you the updated and finished PDF so you can continue to play uninterrupted.

I cannot predict how long the delay will last or how it will affect pricing. My pledge is to publish and deliver War Mage Diary in completed form at no extra cost to backers. Once we get the all-clear, it will be a 6-month lag until I receive the books. At the soonest, we are now looking at a fall 2020 delivery.

This is just one of many Kickstarter projects being hit. I appreciate your patience and understanding and I will do my best to keep you posted!

Wanderers Steal Their Way Into War Mage Diary
about 4 years ago – Mon, Feb 10, 2020 at 08:25:09 AM

With the release of Curse of the Wanderers, folks on Talk WitchBorn have been asking if these pesky Halfling sneak thieves will impact War Mage Diary.

The answer is an undeniable “YES!”

I am going back and reevaluating spells like Alpha, Entwine, Pox, and more to see how our Surefooted and sticky-fingered friends fit in. Should a Wanderer ride a dragon? Should the Fortune-Teller’s unusual brand of magic be explored further in this tome?

To be honest, I don’t have all the answers yet. After thinking about little but WMD for a year, Curse was an unexpected creation. This leaves some loose ends to tie up! Overall, integration should be simple, like the small update to the Flare spell pictured. (Let’s keep these little boogers honest!)

Rather than piecemeal these updates out, I’ll wait until the book is in a near-finished form and get you a newer PDF. And please keep questions on the beta version coming. They are a huge help!

New Halflings! Now Half-Off!
over 4 years ago – Mon, Jan 20, 2020 at 01:53:51 PM

The newest and most doomed war clan is available NOW!

There are a lot of misconceptions about Wanderers. Yes, they’re short. About the perfect height to lay a crushing elbow into an Orc’s privates. Wanderers have big flippers for feet. Enormous really, with a big twisted mat of hair on top. They were cursed ages ago over a little property dispute with a goddess. Her Curse is real. Bad stuff happens all the time.

(Warped people find this funny for some reason).

JOIN THE MISERY!

  • Get the 24-page PDF rulebook, the Wanderers roster, and templates
  • Build the strangest war clan of Gluttons ever
  • Earn the oddest skills from Ape to Wild Strike
  • Find out why your Wanderer has an uncontrollable urge to Snatch everything (and why everyone hates them!)

Curse of the Wanderers is normally priced at $13.13

BUT FOR JANUARY GET CURSED FOR JUST $6.66.
PLUS…
Add the Wanderers and if your cart totals $25 or more, you’ll get $6.66 refunded. (Give me a few hours since this is done manually). This makes Curse of the Wanderers FREE!

GET CURSED NOW!

P.S. Curse of the Wanderers was unplanned—just a fun side-project I had discussed with friends and family over the holidays. The tiny and newly detailed war clan is going to have a big impact on Perdition that you will begin to see soon through all the adventure apps. An even bigger impact will come from how Wanderers fit into War Mage Diary as I finish final edits and design!

SIN EATER
over 4 years ago – Thu, Dec 26, 2019 at 11:52:40 AM

One of the most unusual spells in the new War Mage Diary is Sin Eater. The idea grew out of a need for Paladins to restore their honor after a fall from grace but it’s also helpful to Daughters of Twilight and others like Ogres who don’t want to face negative repercussions from prejudice.

If you backed this Kickstarter, you should have received a message on how to download a copy. And for players with a previous digital version of the book, be sure to download the newest copy in your account at WitchBorn.com. The PDF has got some amazing stuff I’m sure you’ll enjoy. And if you’re newer to The WitchBorn, preorder the book or get in on the beta test now at: https://www.witchborn.com/index.cfm/rules/warmage

Stretch Goal 4 is here!
over 4 years ago – Tue, Dec 24, 2019 at 08:23:36 PM

Once again, thank you for bringing magic to Perdition!

Backers please watch for a message with a link to a beta version of the new War Mage Diary. While this beta has more to come, I’m excited to share it because this is so far beyond anything already released.

Below you can check out some sample spreads from the book and a snippet from my last photo shoot. Little did I know there would be a snowstorm in late October to wipe out all our fall colors—so glad I went out when I did!

Please have a happy holiday and enjoy!

Cory

P.S. If you were a late backer, shoot an email to [email protected] and I’ll get your link out also!
